Studiosorba Sound Absorbing Panels have been specifically developed for the treatment of echo and reverberation in a number of areas, primarily studios or music rooms but are also used in schools, offices and other areas. These absorbers work by vibrating with the acoustic energy in the room, converting it into heat and preventing it from being reflected back into the room which would otherwise cause interference.

The Studiosorba range of products includes:

Disc Absorbers
Wedge Absorbers
Pyramid Absorbers
Corner Bass Absorbers
Cube/Rectangular Absorbers

Disc Absorbers

Disc sound absorbersDisc absorbers can be used on both walls and ceilings and provide a great solution for those who require a product which is both cost effective and unique. These tiles can be dotted around the room to create great visual effects with maximum absorption.

Dimensions: Disc absorbers are 600mm in diameter and available in two thicknesses:

50mm Disc Absorber
Disc acoustic foam absorbers
50mm thicknesses are used in areas where mid to high frequency absorption is required and in smaller spaces.
100mm Disc Absorber
100mm thicknesses are used in larger areas where lower frequency bass absorption is required in addition to mid and high frequencies.

Wedge Absorbers

Wedge sound absorbing foam products
Wedge sound absorbers have a profiled face which increases the surface area available for absorption. Wedges can be an effective treatment for flutter echoes and standing waves which can be particularly problematic in rooms with hard parallel walls. Dampening them with acoustic Wedge absorbers can significantly reduce these problems.

Dimensions: Wedge absorbers come in a standard size of 550 x 550mm and are available in two thicknesses:

50mm Wedge Absorber
50mm Wedge Foam Absorber
The 50mm wedge absorbers are generally used for small to medium rooms and are designed for mid to high frequency absorption.
100mm Wedge Absorber

100mm Wedge Foam Absorber

The 100mm wedge absorbers are recommended for medium to large areas and offer low to medium as well as medium to high frequency absorption.

Pyramid Absorbers

Pyramid sound absorbing foamThe pyramid absorbers are similar to the wedge absorbers in that they have a profiled face and therefore an increased surface area which is great for sound absorption. The sound absorbing properties are slightly less than that of the wedge absorbers as more material is cut away to create the attractive surface finish leaving less foam for sound absorption. The pyramid absorbers can however create a more lively sounding space through the small amount of diffusion which is created from the profiled finish.

Dimensions: Pyramid absorbers come in a standard size of 550 x 550mm and are available in two thicknesses:

Corner Bass Absorber

Corner Bass acoustic absorberThe Corner Bass absorber consists of calculated angles and depths for maximum absorption at low frequencies. Since bass frequencies tend to congregate in the corners of a room the Corner Bass Absorber has been designed to take maximum advantage by absorbing this sound and fits neatly into the corners either vertically where two walls meet or horizontally where the wall meets the ceiling.

The Corner Bass Absorber can compliment all of the other absorbers and diffusers and can be used to create interesting shapes and corner designs. Combined with the mid to high Low frequency absorbionfrequency absorbers the perfect environment can be created. They can also be finished off decoratively with the use of the Cube Absorbers as shown right.

Dimensions: Corner Bass Absorbers are 310mm deep and 550mm in length.

Cube Absorber Cube sound absorber

Cube absorbers not only provide the finishing touches to a room, they also help to absorb lower frequencies increasing the efficiency of the overall room acoustics. The cube Absorbers can be used in combination with the Corner Bass Absorbers in the corners of rooms or even on their own.

Dimensions: Cube Absorbers are 310 x 310 x 310mm.

Rectangular Absorbers

Rectangular absorbers are used to finish off the Wedge and Pyramid Absorbers where Rectangular Absorber for studio acousticsthe tiles may meet in the corner of a room or between the wall and the ceiling. Rectangular Absorbers can also be used on their own to create interesting shapes.
