Community Hall

Community Halls often have problems with acoustics because of their hard wall and ceiling surfaces and the wide range of activities they are used for. A small local community hall found that their users were complaining about the reverberation. The rehearsals were very unclear and the music played sounded very poor. This was due to the reflections generated from the hard walls and ceiling surfaces, creating excess reverberation.

Ceiling Absorption panels for Community Hall

Community Hall - Foamsorba

After discussing the requirements with Soundsorba, a cost effective solution was devised which involved using Foamsorba ceiling panels to line the primary reflective surfaces within the hall. The benefit of these panels was that they could follow the curve of the ceiling, therefore reducing the costs in terms of labour and added materials to accommodate the alternative rigid panels.

This effectively reduced the echo and reverberation and promoted speech and music intelligibility. Soundsorba's technical consultants were able to advise the community hall representatives on the key problem areas and the level of absorption required, free of charge, before supplying the solution. This saved the them money as they didn't need to seek the advice from outside acoustic consultants
