Coresorba
The board is used to absorb sound in the cavities of timber floors, stud partitions, independent acoustic ceilings and floating acoustic floors.
Coresorba board is also used with decorative acoustically transparent facings as independent sound absorbers on walls and ceilings.

Coresorba acoustic insulation boards are manufactured from resin bonded acoustic glassfibre which is compressed to form unfaced 25mm and 40mm thick boards.
The basic glass fibre insulation is compressed under heat and pressure from 100mm to form a 25mm or 40mm thick board. This thinner compressed board retains all the acoustic properties of the 100mm insulation but in a more practical board which is more rigid and easier to cut and handle.
The board is used to absorb sound in the cavities of timber floors, stud partitions, independent acoustic ceilings and floating acoustic floors.
Coresorba board is also used with decorative acoustically transparent facings as independent sound absorbers on walls and ceilings. The panel sizes available are 2700mm x 1200mm.
Acoustic Performance
Coresorba can be used in a wide range of sound insulation applications. Where it is used as an acoustic infill in a plasterboard stud partition cavity the typical improvement is up to 5 decibels in airborne sound
For timber floor joists as an acoustic infill the typical improvement is up to 4 decibels in airborne sound
Used for reducing Isolated sound in a wall construction the typical improvement is up to 10 decibels in airborne sound
In a timber acoustic floating floor construction up to 8 decibel in airborne sound and up to 7 decibel in impact sound can be expected.
Concrete acoustic floating floor construction has a typical improvement of up to 4 decibel in airborne sound and up to 16 decibel in impact sound
Isolated sound reducing ceiling construction has a typical improvement of up to 10 decibel in airborne sound and up to 11 decibel in impact sound.

Coresorba panels can be cut with a Stanley knife or a sharp kitchen knife. The Corsorba panels are cut to friction fit between timber or metal studs in partition walls and also between floor joists. For floating acoustic floors, the Coresorba panels are overplayed on tip of the existing floorboards or concrete floor and trimmed around the perimeter of the floor to fit the room dimensions
Please refer to and work from the installation details given in the product brochure.
