Sound insulating doors

DOORSORBA acoustic timber doors are extremely high performance sound reducing door sets. These high quality door sets are available in a wide range of finishes and are fire rated. DOORSORBA is used in areas which require high sound reduction performance such as radio/TV studios, music rooms, interview rooms, cinemas, schools and confidential offices etc. The door and door frame in a room is usually the area which requires most attention when it comes to sound transmission.

Application

DOORSORBA single and double acoustic internal timber door sets are available in a wide range of wood and laminate finishes and are fire rated. They are used wherever high sound reduction performance is required between noise sensitive areas such as:

Radio/TV studios, music studios, music practice rooms, theatres and cinemas, interview rooms, boardrooms, private offices, conference rooms, consulting rooms and hotel suites/rooms.

Acoustic doors

DOORSORBA acoustic door sets are high performance constructions and are available in two standard acoustic ratings:

Bullet pointHigh performance version is called DOORSORBA-44 and has a sound reduction of Rw = 44 decibels. (Double leaf door set is 41 decibel rating).

Bullet pointMedium performance version is called DOORSORBA-35 and has sound reduction of Rw = 35 decibels.

Other acoustic performance ratings such as 38 decibels are available on request.

Nominal Sizes
Single leaf door sets
External overall doorframe size: 2110mm high x 1012 mm wide.
Door leaf size: 2040mm high x 926mm wide.
Double leaf door sets
External overall doorframe size: 2110mm high x 1790 mm wide.
Door leaf size: 2040mm high x 850mm/850mm wide.
44 decibel and 41 decibel door leafs are 64mm thick.
35 decibel door leafs are 54mm thick.
Other sizes are available on request.
Standard door frame: 90 x 40mm hardwood section complete with a 30mm door stop and 90 x 20mm threshold. Deeper frame depth can be supplied upon special request.

 

 

 

Finishes

Veneers: Doorsorba is available in eight standard veneers however other veneers are available on request.

Paints: Paint primer finish as well as a full range of NCS plus BS and RAL equivalents are available.

Laminates: Print grade laminate as standard but most other proprietary laminate ranges can be supplied at an additional cost.

Vision Panels: Vision panels, glazed in clear 17mm fire and acoustic safety glass, are available on the 35 decibel doors but not on the 41 decibel or the 44 decibel door sets. Other options for vision panels are available on request such as wheelchair vision panels.

Technical Information
FIRE RATINGS

All 35 decibel door sets are FD60 fire rated. All 44 decibel and 41 decibel door sets are FD30 fire rated.

ACOUSTIC SEALS

Perimeter seals are integrally fitted in the frames and an automatic lift threshold seal at the base of the door leaf. Other seals may be available on request.
