HMP Young Offenders Institution requires acoustic absorption for new skills area

HMP Service contacted Broadcast audio to install a small studio for a project to assist talented young offenders at one of its establishments, HMP Young Offenders Institution in Aylesbury.

The new studio was an old store room within the prison which had to be converted into a radio studio and teaching area to assist inmates to learn new skills, in this case, the basics of professional broadcasting and journalism.

The acoustics were an important consideration to promote effective recording and communication. The Wallsorba panels were the only sound reinforcement product to be considered for the job and were easily installed into the converted store room.

The course is being supported by the BBC and 'Friends of Aylesbury YOI', a charity dedicated to helping those who have fallen off the rails to regain self esteem and learn a new vocation.

This installation was carried out by Broadcast Audio www.broadcast-audio.co.uk
