After the Wallsorba acoustic wall panels had been installed, the staff commented on how quite the classrooms had become. They added that the appearance of the acoustic wall panels gave a softer, more comfortable and peaceful feeling in the classrooms.

Emmer Green School - Wallsorba

Teachers and children in Emmer Green School at Reading were experiencing high reverberation levels in their classrooms due to sound bouncing off the hard wall surfaces. This was doubly annoying as the screech's from the scraping of chairs on the hard floor was also contributing to the din causing stressful learning conditions.

During the summer school recess, the school decided to invest in installing Wallsorba acoustic wall panels on the walls of three of the classrooms. The school wanted to use a tried and tested sound absorbing system. These acoustic panels which are manufactured by Soundsorba Ltd, who are located in High Wycombe, and have been used very successfully in other schools in Reading as well as schools all around the country.

A neutral light grey colour was chosen from the extensive range of colours in which the acoustic panels are available to blend in with the décor of the classrooms.

The school also wanted to have the facility to sticking notices on the acoustic panels and the Wallsorba acoustic wall panels are ideal for this type of usage.

At the same time as the Wallsorba acoustic wall panels installation, a contract carpet was fitted on the floor which eliminated the scraping sounds between the metal chair legs and the floor surface.

The result was a much quitter teaching environment where the teachers could be heard very clearly by the children and stress free from all the noise which means children's learning will improve.
