Create your own acoustic wood panel wall

Instead of reflecting off a hard, flat surface, our Woodsorba range features a slat effect, allowing sound waves to vibrate between the gaps for a quieting effect.

With their natural tones and textures, wood acoustic panels can be used to create a contemporary feel in your space that blends in with your style. Plus, you can cut them down with traditional woodworking tools to create a size that works with your space.

Frequently Asked Questions About Acoustic Wood Panels

Acoustic wood panels are a type of wall panel designed to absorb sound and therefore improve sound quality in a room. Our Woodsorba panels feature a slatted texture which stops the sound waves from bouncing off them like they would with standard, flat walls. We also have a sturdy, wood fibre acoustic panel – Toughsorba – designed to mitigate the sound of impact from balls, which is great for sports halls, community halls and gyms. Our wooden sound absorbing floorboards are also a discreet way to improve sound quality without compromising on style.

Acoustic wood panels feature a specific material or texture that means sound is absorbed from the surface instead of reflecting off. This produces a noise dampening effect and reduces echo for improved sound quality. These panels are often used to reduce reverberation in spaces like schools, hospitals, offices and leisure centres, and creates a perfect space for clearly audible speaking, such as lecture halls and theatres.

Wall panels are surprisingly lightweight and easy to install using nails, staples or screws. You’ll receive detailed instructions with your order to make for easy set up, and our team is always on hand to help should you need it. As well as being easy to install, our acoustic wood panels are also a breeze to maintain – simply wipe them clean with a slightly damp cloth to ensure optimal performance.

Covering a whole wall with acoustic panels isn’t always necessary. Instead, it’s best to place them strategically in your room depending on your specific noise challenges. The general rule of thumb is 15-20% wall coverage in your room, which can be made up of acoustic wall panels, hanging ceiling panels or even sound absorbing floorboards.

When deciding where to put your acoustic wood panels, consider where your major reflection points are in the room and areas where echoes are most noticeable. You’ll want to strategically place your acoustic panels in these specific locations for the most noticeable impact on sound quality.
